The relatives of young people unaccounted for after a tragic blaze at a bar in a Switzerland's ski resort are confronting an painful wait for confirmed information and requesting information about their loved ones via social media.

The fire engulfed the Le Constellation bar in Cans-Montana, located in the Swiss Alps of south-west Switzerland, in the early hours of the first day of the year. Circulated footage show the ceiling catching alight as beverages with sparklers are held aloft.

Junior golfer Emanuele Galeppini, 16, was last heard from around midnight on December 31st, his father said.
